Listing a new beauty treatment
A protocol launched in the cabin is invisible until the profile says so. Services, duration, a post, a photograph — how to announce a care without renaming the institute.

The salon checklist is the shared base: category, services, booking link, hours. This article is the week you add a care. A new facial, a lash lift, a protocol you trained for on Monday. The team knows. The regulars who were in the cabin know. Maps does not. Until the listing says the treatment, the woman who typed it books the spa that wrote it down last year.

The name stays. The service moves.
Google’s name rules are written against catalogues in the title. If the plate says “Institut Colin”, the listing does not become “Institut Colin — hydrafacial, radiofrequency, Korean glass skin, Dijon centre”. A stranger searching your name should land on you, not on a slogan you will change in March.
Primary category: beauty salon — the job. Not “medical spa” if you are not one, and not “cosmetics shop”. If you now do nails as a real diary, that can be a secondary. If the new care is still a trial on two clients, leave the secondary off. Google matches searches to categories more than to a paragraph of device names in the description.
The description is for the woman who opened the profile. Two or three sentences: who you are, which street, that you work by appointment. The new protocol gets one honest line, not a press release. Brand names she cannot book are how a listing starts to look like a catalogue.
What the profile has to carry the week a care starts
Services. Add the treatment, with a duration if the field asks. Take off the one you stopped in January. A list that still offers a care you no longer have the machine for is how she feels cheated in the cabin. Google’s edit-profile help is dull on purpose: accurate, complete, up to date.
Hours. If the new care is only Thursday evening, do not let the listing imply a seven-day spa. Special hours for the training day you closed. Saturday if you take it. A beauty salon “open” on Maps with a wait-list until next month is a wait-time review.
The booking link. In the listing URLs, not only on the story that announced the protocol. If you only have the phone, Call is enough. A broken link “until the booking tool adds the care” is worse than no link. She will tap the spa.
A photograph. The cabin, the hands, a result with consent — not the manufacturer’s marble slab. The listing photos piece is the general rule. Here the rule is: the new care has to look like a room she can walk into this month, not like an ad from a distributor.
A post. An update the week it starts: two sentences, a button. Offers and events only if you actually have dates and terms. The mechanics are in Google posts in 2026. A story that dies in twenty-four hours is not a service field.
The booking tool has to know the care the same week. A listing that announces a lash lift and a Book button that opens a menu from March is how she feels lied to before she lies down. If the tool is slow, Call is better than a false Book. Google’s edit-profile page is the instruction to keep the URL true. It is not a suggestion.
What you do not do to “help it rank”
Do not stuff the title with the protocol. Do not tick attributes you do not have because the trainer’s slide ticked them. Do not copy another institute’s service list. Do not leave the old care up “for the keywords”. Representation guidelines and category rules meet on that point: it has to be true.
Attributes: by appointment, the languages you speak, payments you take. Accessibility only if the cabin has it. The new care does not need a new brand. It needs a line on the profile and a week of honesty.
This is not the hair-salon metro piece. She is not choosing a chair from a cover photograph of a cut. She is choosing a treatment she typed. If that treatment is not in services, the rest of the checklist cannot save the week. The owner’s shared list is still the salon listing. The job this week is one care, written down, photograph attached, button that finishes. If you launched two protocols, write both. Do not hide the second in a story “because the listing looks busy”. Busy is not a category Google matches.
The listing editor is built for this: services, hours, the description, the photographs. It does not invent a second name for a machine you leased.
Sarah Colin’s quote stays on the beauty salons page. This article is the week the care becomes public.
The report is how you see whether Maps already knows the neighbours offer the same treatment. It uploads nothing.
