Florist on Maps the same day, or Mother’s Day a week early
‘Florist near me’ at 17:00 is distance and hours. ‘Mother’s Day bouquet’ ten days out is photographs already on the listing. The two searches are not the same job.

A bouquet is often bought the same afternoon, and often decided the week before. Those are not one search. “Florist near me” on a Thursday at 17:00 is distance, hours, a number that answers. “Mother’s Day bouquet” ten days earlier is a listing that already has photographs of arrangements, not an empty workroom. Mixing the two is how you spend 14 February explaining that Maps still said closed.
The other florist article on this site is the calendar: Valentine’s, Mother’s Day, All Saints, Christmas, the wedding Saturdays already in the book. This one is the match. What Google is comparing when the query is a street, and what it is comparing when the query is a date.

“Near me” is a hours-and-distance card
Local results are relevance, distance and prominence — Google’s words. Relevance is whether the profile is a florist when someone typed florist, or bouquet, or flowers. Distance is how far you are from the person holding the phone. Prominence is reviews, mentions, a listing that looks looked-after.
On the day, distance weighs heavily. They are already in the street, or they will be in twenty minutes. Primary category: florist. Not gift shop as the main line, even if you also sell a candle. Google’s category help is short: pick the trade. Secondary categories only if you actually do garden work or a nursery. A catalogue in the title — “Marie Flowers — bouquets, weddings, funerals, plants, delivery Lyon 6” — is how listings get edited back. The name is the name on the window.
Hours have to tell the truth that afternoon. Open until when. Whether anything is left. Google lets you edit today’s hours. A queue at the door and a listing that says closed is a customer two streets over. A listing that says open and a shutter that is down is the same walk, the other way. Hours, holidays, seasons is the calendar. This paragraph is 17:00 on the day.
Why the neighbour ranks first is the general ranking piece. Here the neighbour is the florist who still answers, whose hours are still true, whose category is still florist.
The date search is a photograph problem
Ten days before Mother’s Day, or two weeks before Valentine’s, people are not standing on your pavement. They are on the sofa. They type the occasion, sometimes the town. Instagram and Pinterest carry the eyes — that is another article. On Google they still open a listing. If the first three pictures are a stock rose, an empty shop, and a logo, they go back to the pack.
You cannot invent prominence the week of the date. Reviews written after last year’s weddings, photographs of your arrangements uploaded in January, a complete profile: that is what the date search walks into. Google did not publish a “Mother’s Day ranking factor”. It published relevance, distance, prominence. A listing that looks like a florist in April still looks like one on 24 May.
Delivery is a fact, not a slogan. If you cover three communes, say so in the description and, if it is true, as a service. If you do not leave the shop, do not tick delivery because a pack ticked it. Representation guidelines want the business as it is.
We do not have a percentage for how often the date search stays on Maps versus Instagram. We will not invent one. The free report can put your listing next to the florists Google already shows. It publishes nothing.
What we will not invent
We will not tell you that claiming the listing “wins Mother’s Day”. Completing the profile is the minimum Google asks in order to consider you. Name as on the shopfront, florist as the category, hours that are true on the day and the week before, photographs taken here.
Élodie Charvet’s sentence is on the florists page, because she said it. It is not copied here to decorate a ranking article. The calendar piece — get found before the day — is still the dates. This one is the two searches those dates produce.
The listing is the page a stranger sees before they call or walk. Same-day or a week early, it has to be the same honest card.
A florist is rarely the only one in the pack. Distance on the day is crowded in a town centre. Prominence is the reviews from last year’s weddings and the photographs you uploaded in January, not a slogan you added to the title the week of the date. We will not invent a local percentage for how often the same-day search goes to the shop with true hours. Open Maps at 17:00 on a Thursday. The three cards already tell you.
